NY Times, 'I think about it daily': Life in a time of mass shootings. The Times asked readers: How often, if ever, do you think about the possibility of a shooting in your daily life?

German Lopez, Vox, America's Gun Problem, Explained. It's important to grasp not just the stunning statistics about gun ownership and gun violence in the U.S, but America's very unique relationship with guns and how it plays out in our politics to ensure that our culture and laws continue to drive the routine gun violence that marks American life.

Missouri State Rep. Stacey Newman pre-filed bill would make guns as difficult to access as abortions. The bill would require anyone buying a gun to follow the restrictions required of women seeking abortions, including a 72-hour waiting period and meeting with a licensed physician to discuss the risks of gun ownership.

Mark Joseph Stern, Slate, The Price We Pay for Liberty?  America must not value the liberty to own a gun over the liberty to live free from violence.

Jessica Jin, Qz.com, America's absurd love affair with guns can only be fought with something even more absurd. The #CocksNotGlocks campaign was meant to be obnoxious. But it turns out everyone is frustrated, tired of hearing about preventable gun deaths, tired of America's love affair with guns.

What the Gun Lobby is Doing

Conservative media react to San Bernardino mass shooting with evidence-free solution of more concealed guns. There is no evidence that concealed guns are a real-life solution to mass shootings; according to an analysis of public mass shootings over a 30-year period, not a single one was stopped by an armed civilian with a concealed carry permit.

GOP candidates display firearms machismo. Republican politics have hardened from gun rights to gun pride, as candidates embrace and show off the more militaristic features of weaponry.
